Renaissance Art

Day 3

The Early Italian Renaissance

 

Discover the wonders of this period through the works of artists like Brunelleschi and Masaccio. The project of the day will be to make a paper mache model of Brunelleschi’s Dome.

Day 1

Giotto and the Proto-Renaissance

 

Explore the transitional work of artists like Giotto, Gentile Fabriano, and Fra Angelico. The project of the day will be a Giotto style fresco painting.

Day 4

The High Italian Renaissance

 

We will marvel at the beauty of the Renaissance masters from Michelangelo and da Vinci to Titian. The project of the day will be a collage inspired by the art of Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

Day 2

The Northern Renaissance

 

Explore the beautifully detailed paintings of painters like Jan van Eyck and Peter Bruegel. The project of the day will be a mini triptych.

Day 5

Field Trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art

 

We will take a field trip to the Museum to explore the Renaissance pieces in the collection.
